Make-up Days & Make-up Policy
Playgroup Aspen is 100% funded by parent tuition. We do not require any fundraising, donations, or parents hours. I absolutely believe in a value for your money, which is why I choose to offer a one-for-one make-up policy. This means that any time your child is absent and we are notified of that absence pursuant to this policy, you accrue a make-up day. I am the only provider in Aspen that offers this benefit, and I am able to do so because our families are extremely respectful of this policy. Please read through it and let me know if you have specific questions or concerns.
-Any time that you know in advance that your child will not be in attendance please write your child “out” on our posted make-up calendars.
-Please call (970-920-4016) or email playgroupaspen@gmail.com no later than 8:30 a.m. to let us know if your child is ill and will not be attending on a given day. This opens up a spot for another child to use a make-up.
-Tuition payments MUST BE CURRENT in order to use make-up(s).
-Make-ups may be used on a SPACE AVAILABLE BASIS ONLY.
-Do not count on an additional day weekly to supplement your child’s schedule. Please choose the day(s) that you would like for your children to attend and schedule accordingly.
-Use the posted calendars in the Pre-K room to write your child’s name on the day(s) that you would like to use make-up(s). Please write "(Child's Name) wait." Ms. Kadi will cross our "wait" and write “here” if there is a spot for your child. For example, "Nora wait" will be changed to "Nora here."
-Check the calendars ahead of time to see if your child may use a make-up. Please do not call and ask the teachers to check for you or to write your requests in.
-If nothing is written next to their name, we will call/text you the morning of the requested make-up day if space becomes available. Please do not call us. It is very disruptive...we will let you know as soon as we do. If you do not hear from us, there is not a spot available.
-Keep in mind, there are 3 groups, so please do not assume there is a space if someone has written their child “out” for the day.
-If “here” is written next to your child’s name and/or you have agreed to your child coming for a make-up day on the day requested, that will be counted as a make-up day—even if you (or your child) decides not to come.
-If Playgroup is closed, no tuition will be charged and you may not use a make-up.
-We share make-up(s) with all of the children. Please write your child’s name on the day(s) you desire on the calendars. We take turns with the children written in (e.g. if your child recently had a make-up, we may go to the next name).
-Do not be discouraged if there are several names.
-Keep track of the days missed and used. It is your responsibility to do so. We have very detailed records and can check against yours if necessary. It is very time consuming and difficult to have to double check and we value the honesty of our Playgroup family.
-If your child attends full time, please reach out to Ms. Kadi. I will do my best to make something work for you and your family.
