What to Bring...

Please read the "What to Bring" section under the "School Year Session" for a list of what to bring daily. In addition to that, please check the Summer Activity Calendar daily for special notes on supplies needed for different outings. Below are some notes on how to pack for different adventures.

Swim Days at the ARC

Children attending on swim days will need to come dressed in their bathing suits with clothes over the top. It is very helpful for girls to be sent in a two-piece bathing suit to make potty trips easier.

Please pack in their backpack a small towel (an old towel cut in half works great), a picnic style lunch, a full water bottle, and clothing to change into afterward. You may also pack goggles if your child uses them.

Please make sure to label all items!

Appropriate Footwear

Please send your child each day in comfortable, sturdy, closed-toe walking shoes with socks. Tennis shoes are preferable. We do a lot of walking and will be climbing on and off busses.

Water Play Days

We do a lot of water play throughout the summer. Sometimes we do water play at school and other times we are in local rivers, fountains, etc. On water play day, please send your child with a change of clothes, a small towel, and a pair of water shoes (crocs, natives, tevas, or something similar). Feel free to dress your child in a swim shirt, but there is no need to dress him/her in a full bathing suit.

Hiking Field Trips

On hiking days, please send your child in appropriate play clothing, sturdy hiking shoes with socks, and pack a lightweight jacket in his/her backpack. Weather can change quickly on the mountains so it is important to be prepared. If your child is prone to insect bites, you may also want to apply bug repellant.
